Hi,
I've checked your site out and it looks like an interesting alternative to the established methods of distributon (though you need to get an indie section up in the Green Room, lol).
Just a couple of questions - who does the promoting of the artist's albums on Sessionsound, and will you sell individual tracks or albums only?
Oops, another question - you have MP3 support, but will you also support AAC, WMA and similar for non-iPod owners?
Interesting concept, though, and definitely worth checking out for bands and artists.

Hi Danny
Thanks for the feedback and the questions... apologies for the late reponse though!
Firstly, to answer you...
- we sell individual tracks & albums - t's up to the artists to set their prices for each track & for the whole album
- at the moment, we're supporting only mp3 because it's the most common (arguably). However, we do have plans to extend our media support to include other formats, including video.
The plan is to extend the concept to indie film/doco makers.
Regarding promotion, we're aiming to build a vibrant indie community that will help discover & promote the talent that joins.
To that end we have just launched the 'Airplay Radio' service, which allows fans to create their own playlists, as well as record their own voice spots. So, basically you can become your own 'radio dj' & share your discoveries with other fans and friends. Include interviews, reviews, news, and views...

I like this idea of getting fans and such involved - after all, I still believe word-of-mouth is the best kind of promotion out there.
This is why indie is such a great genre to be involved in - the depth of talent and community is excellent, as you're proving.
One thing I would suggest (if you're not already doing it) is get involved with college radio stations - they're one of the biggest "markets" for indie music, and since they already have a thriving community tied in to existing DJ's, it might be that some of them can offer weekly slots for Session Sound recommendations, or similar?
Look forward to seeing you succeed!
