» Danny Brown - The McDades Especially when the band are from Edmonton and Montreal... Certainly there is the undertone of Irish music there (not surprising when you see The Chieftains as one of their main influences). Yet any band who cites such an eclectic range of other influences (Charlie Parker, Ravi Shankar, Broken Social Scene and Edith Piaf) can't just be dismissed as atypical of whether you like Riverdance or not. And I couldn't envisage Michael Flatley ever paying a tribute to Muddy Waters, as The McDades do on "McKinley Morganfield's," a tribute to Muddy Waters. Further reading required, mayhaps?
