Those who love the music from the soundtracks of The O.C., Grey's Anatomy, and Gossip Girl will be thrilled to know that the woman behind the music of the hottest new film, Twilight, is none other than Alexandra Patsavas. Selling more than 170,000 albums its first week of release, the soundtrack to Twilight became an instant best-selling album in the United States. Patsavas, who owns her own music company, Chop Shop Music, started out working as a music supervisor for films, until 1999, when she made her break into television. Since, she has become Hollywood's go-to source for the latest in indie music. With her success with teen dramas, it's no surprise that Patsavas was hired to create the soundtrack to Twilight. The Songs From the Movie Twilight 1. "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse - This song by British rock group "Muse" was released as a single from their 2006 album, Black Holes and Revelations. 2."Decode" by Paramore - Generally considered to be on the punk rock side of music, the song from this band from Franklin, Tennessee, does not appear on any other album. 3. "Full Moon" by The Black Ghosts - This band from the UK has only been together since 2006, and released this track on their self-titled album The Black Ghosts. 4. "Leave Out All The Rest" by Linkin Park - No teen romance movie is complete without an emo-rock love ballad and Linkin Park delivers with this song from their 2007 release Minutes to Midnight. 5. "Spotlight [Twilight Mix]" by Mutemath - Available on the soundtrack to Twilight only, this Grammy-winning American band adds an eclectic elements of new wave, electro music with ambient vocals. 6. "Go All The Way [Into The Twilight]" by Perry Farrell - Known by music lovers as the frontman of Jane's Addiction, and the creator of the infamous Lollapalooza festival, Perry Farrell's "Go All The Way [Into the Twilight]" appears only on the soundtrack to Twilight. 7. "Tremble For My Beloved" by Collective Soul - Continuing with one of the staple sounds of grunge rock is Collective Soul, with this soundtrack only song, "Tremble For My Beloved." 8. "I Caught Myself" by Paramore - Making a second appearance on the soundtrack of Twilight is Paramore. This song, featuring lead singer Hayley Williams, brings about the all too familiar angst of wanting something, or someone, that is likely not meant to be, stirring the romantic tension between Edward and Bella. 9. "Eyes on Fire" by Blue Foundation - Taking the sound in a new direction, this Danish group is not unfamiliar to an Alex Patsavas soundtrack. They have also appeared on her work with the television series, The O.C. 10. "Never Think" by Rob Pattinson - A delight for Twlight fans everywhere is hearing this song by none other than the man who plays "Edward," Rob Pattinson. 11."Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron and Wine - Indie rock favorites Iron and Wine submit the ideal love song for Twilight. This song is only available on the Twilight sountrack. 12. "Bella's Lullaby" by Carter Burwell - This track, available only on the soundtrack to Twilight, is much darker than Bella fans would have imagined. Ethereal and soft, the only instrumental track on the entire compilation is calming and finishes the album nicely. Burwell is also the composer of the movie score. The soundtrack to Twilight highlights some of the more prominent pieces of music in the film, but features only one of the classical music pieces by award-winning composer Cater Burwell.
